SELF SUFFICIENCY IN CENTRE OPERATIONS

CSI supports the operation of NSW correctional centres by making them self sufficient in food services, laundry operations, inmate buy up requirements, centre hygiene and ground and building maintenance. Inmate workers receive training in these food and service industries. Skills learned will enhance their prospects of post release employment in these in-demand hospitality and service sectors.

CSI's correctional industry programs and operations are close to self sufficient. Food including crops and cattle are grown and raised by inmates. Profits generated from the sale of goods and services manufactured or serviced by CSI contribute to reducing the operational costs of NSW correctional centres.
